This is an essay I wrote for my Seeking Truth class.
____
I believe in a person’s ability of free will and the presence of a soul. There are many things in this world that make people what they are. Freedoms, rights, desires, changes, choices, but none are more important than the choices which we make every day. They are sometimes small or can also be monumental, but they are all free will, they are all human, and they all stress our humanity and mortality.
You stand at the edge of two paths, one you can see where it will lead you and the other is shrouded in shadows, the unknown if you want to call it that. You can go either way, you might take the path that is clear and right in front of you, or you might take something that is much harder, something in which you don’t know what will happen. This seems to be the way my choices seem to be, or at least that is how I see them. It is more than the divide of right and wrong, it is more than good and evil, but it is our own perceptions and trying to draw our own line, our own divide. I choose to come to college, I chose to take the classes I take, I chose to do the best I can, sometimes that isn’t good enough, even though I wish it was. It might be good for me, but not for other people.
My parents always told me to do what was right instead of what was easy and that is what I do. That among many other things from my childhood are what stick with me even now. I admit when I am wrong and always do the right thing. I can choose to do what I want, but there are two other things that I know. There is a difference between who you are and what you are. What is an identity, but who is your personality. You can choose to be what and who you want to be, but not always, sometimes you cannot choose and your identity and your personality are forced upon you by varying circumstances. But even those people can choose to change or choose to be who they are. This is how it is and how it always will be!
nice, short and sweet.
He only wanted 300 words, but I kind of gave him 370, oh well. Honestly, I wrote that in like five minutes. I just let words spew from my head and it came together like that.
I couldn't write like that no matter how hard I tried. lol very good
This was the resualt of a whole ton of sugar. it was the quickest thing I've ever written, but the most annoying, I wrote, but didn't reread what I wrote till it was done. It was odd. but what I said in there is too me, all true
Interesting piece. I love the mention of the soul, pointing to the essence of self. The writing works well, and no complications or anything are present in the piece. Hope your professor liked it.
Good job.
Fonzy, he did like it, but I didn't see the grade, seeing as how I e-mailed it to him. but he said he enjoyed it.
I might also post this on fictionpress, i'm not sure. it would work there too.
